About Torpedo Anti Submarine (TAS) School

Torpedo Anti Submarine (TAS) School is the heart of the underwater warfare training in Bangladesh Navy which was established in BNS ISSA KHAN at 1976. The role of this school is to impart training on various underwater aspects to officers and sailors of Bangladesh Navy. However, every year the school deals with large number of trainees both from home and abroad.

Objectives

To provide a broad knowledge on TAS organization, training and administration.

To impart training on underwater warfare / systems, torpedo, LDC/ RDC, TAS equipment, Sonar, underwater explosives and Mine/ MCM system used in naval warfare putting special emphasis on BN.

To enhance working knowledge on underwater tactics including submarine.

To familiarize student officers and sailors with modern torpedo and sonar system.

To provide basic knowledge on Mine, Mine laying and MCM measures.

Courses Offered

Principal Warfare Officers (TAS) Specialization Course (Specialization Phase-I)

To equip Officers with the advanced tactical and technical competencies required to assume full responsibility as TAS Specialist Officers, both afloat and ashore, with an emphasis on operational leadership in complex maritime warfare environments.

Principal Warfare Officers (TAS) Course Phase-II (Warfare Package)

To professionally prepare officers for the specialized role of TAS, enabling them to lead and manage Anti-Submarine Warfare operations with strategic insight and operational effectiveness, fulfilling duties as TAS Specialist and Principal Warfare Officers in both sea and shore appointments.

Torpedo Detector (TD-I) ‘Q’ Course

To develop technically proficient senior TAS sailors capable of independently managing the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of underwater warfare systems and to prepare them to serve effectively as technical instructors within their designated quarters.
