To provide professional training to BAF, overseas and sister services personnel employed in Air Defence function.

About Fighter Controller Training Unit (FCTU)

Fighter Controller Training Unit was established in 1982. The unit has developed unique integrated training environment where both officers and airmen are trained simultaneously, complementing each other towards achieving professional cohesion. The training imparted by this unit includes Basic Air Defence Weapon & Controller Course (ADWC) for BAF, overseas and sister service officers including Trade Courses (Basic, Advance and Senior) for the Radar Operators. FCTU is located at BAF Station Shamshernagar, Moulavibazar.

Objectives

To impart basic professional training to Bangladesh, Overseas and sister services officers of air defence branch.

To conduct refresher course and continuation training of ADWC Officers of BAF.

To impart trade training of Radar Operator of BAF.

To evaluate and update air defence tactics and techniques.

To carry out training support activities like assisting in holding central categorization test for ADWC branch officers.

To conduct flight following courses for the deployment of BAF personnel in UN missions.
