About School of Special Warfare & Diving Salvage and Centre (SWADS)

Following the legacy of Naval Commando in Operation Jackpot in 1971, Diving and Salvage School (D & S School) started its journey in 1979. The School of SWADS and Centre was inaugurated on 23 December 2008. Special Warfare Diving and Salvage Command which is famously known as SWADS was inaugurated on 27 December 2011.

Objectives

To provide training to volunteer officers & sailors for special warfare and diving and salvage command.

To provide training on unconventional warfare.

To conduct professional courses for diving and commando branch sailors.

To provide required training to sister services personnel.

To provide required training to all members under SWADS command to meet national crisis.

To provide training on Diving Medicine & Tactical Combat Casualty Care.

To provide training on Counter Terrorism, Anti Smuggling, Anti-Piracy & Fishery Protection.

To provide training on Search, Neutralization and Disposal of Explosive and Explosive Ordnance.

To provide training to armed forces members of friendly countries. To facilitate coastal crime prevention & fisheries protection.

Courses Offered

Basic Diving Officer (BDO) Course

To Impart training to the officers of Bangladesh Navy as qualified Diving Officer to conduct all sorts of diving and salvage activities

Rank: Sub Lieutenant/Lieutenant Equivalent

Duration: 16 Weeks

Annual Intake: 01

Basic Diving & Salvage (CD-III ‘Q’) Course

To impart foundation knowledge to the clearance Diver Sailors.

Medium: English

Rank: Able seaman Equivalent

Duration: 24 Weeks

Annual Intake: 01

Advanced Diving & Salvage (CD-II ‘Q’) Course

To impart advanced knowledge to the Clearance Diver Sailors.

Medium: English

Rank: Able seaman Equivalent Qualified in Basic Diving Course

Duration: 24 Weeks
